THE CONTEXT

Get Licensed came to us with a pragmatic brief: bring clarity, consistency and intention to their digital communications.

The name is literal and it works. It answers the exact question a customer types, and it made Get Licensed one of the most visible players in UK search. That is an asset most brands never get.

THE PLATFORM · THE PART THAT WAS ALREADY WINNING
THE CHALLENGE

The brand that won the market-entry phase is rarely the brand that carries the ambition after it.

The positioning was modern, tech forward, efficient. Fast, easy, accessible. That was the right argument for entering the market and it did its job.

As the company matured, leadership started asking whether the brand expressed its long-term value. They wanted to create pride, identity and meaning for people who earned a licence through the platform. The tension was exact: how do you stand for something larger without undermining the functional clarity, and the search performance, that the name already delivers?

THE IMMERSION

One week inside the company, and the brief stopped being about communications.

The people working at Get Licensed, and the people enrolling through it, represented a far deeper social impact than the platform described. It was not issuing credentials. It was changing the shape of a life.

A significant part of the customer base is immigrants and young people facing uncertain futures. On arrival in the UK, or on leaving school, most could see only two paths: low barrier gig work, delivering food and moving people, or the security profession, protecting people, property and public space.

THE INSIGHT
They are closer to first responders than to the stereotype.
The security role carries more responsibility, more risk and more social value than gig work, and the culture treats it as peripheral or comic. These are everyday guardians who regularly operate in real danger. That gap between reality and perception was the whole strategic opportunity.

THE STRATEGY

Do not abandon the name. Build the meaning on top of it.

Get Licensed had accumulated enormous equity as a functional, discoverable, trusted domain. Damaging that clarity, or the search advantage inside it, would have been strategically irresponsible. So we split function from meaning: the platform stays the gateway, and a second brand carries the pride.

The Noble Lions AcademyTHE INSTITUTION · MEANING
ONE ENTRY POINT, TWO JOBS. NOTHING THE SEARCH ENGINE ALREADY TRUSTS WAS TOUCHED.
THE NOBLE LIONS

Not a training programme. An institution with honour attached to it.

The academy was built on honour, responsibility, service, British heritage, community and belonging. Graduates stopped being people who obtained a licence and became Noble Lion certificate holders, a designation that signals discipline, professionalism and contribution.

The lion was deliberate. It is embedded in British history and heraldry, and it stands for courage, guardianship and nobility. Aligning the academy with that iconography reframed the profession as a modern expression of an old duty: protecting the realm.

THE INSIGNIA

A licence you can print. A membership you can wear.

THE CERTIFICATE · SEALED, SIGNED, KEPT
THE CREST · CARRIED BY THE PEOPLE WHO EARNED IT
THE CAMPAIGN

From transactional to consequential, and from casual to dignified.

The communications moved from process to purpose. Rather than speed and convenience, the content showed academy alumni in action: on the frontline of public safety, protecting people and places, intervening in moments of real risk. Accessible, but rigorous. Not exclusion, elevation.

THE PLATFORM AND THE ACADEMY, IN ONE HAND
THE COMMUNITY
Graduates were not customers. They were members.
Bonded by shared standards and a shared purpose, which is the part a licensing platform can never manufacture after the fact. It has to be designed in at the moment the credential is conferred.
THE RESULT

The company grew into a brand that described what it had always been doing.

Get Licensed kept its search dominance, its clarity and its performance as the entry point. The Noble Lions Academy took on the emotional, cultural and aspirational weight. The communications finally aligned with the real world impact, and customers gained pride, identity and a sense of higher purpose.

Brands often outgrow the language that first made them successful. The challenge is not to erase the foundation but to build meaning on top of it, deliberately. Here the answer was not reinvention. It was elevation.
